Here are more shots!

Our group NeRaTaYa recently visited Rivertown in Kenner, Louisiana for a day long demonstration of songs, stories and crafts. On hand were Donna M. Pierite, singer and storyteller, Elisabeth Pierite, singer and drummer, Jean-Luc Pierite, singer, storyteller and drummer, and Steven Madère, singer, drummer, craftsman and photographer. All shots were taken by Steven Madère. Special thanks to Rose Behan who invited us to Cannes Brulées at Rivertown. Also, thank you to Lindsey who made our visit more enjoyable.

Donna M. Pierite tells a young visitor from the Lafayette area about the various cultural information displayed on the table.

Visitors from Silver Creek, Mississippi talk to Donna about the cultural and historical ties between the Tunica-Biloxi and Mississippi. The young girl and the lady on the left are descended from the Chickasaw tribe.

Another lady in the group of vistors from Silver Creek. She is a descendent of the Chickasaw tribe.

A close-up of the young lady from Silver Creek, Mississippi.

Jean-Luc Pierite tells stories and his own renditions of tribal lore in between drumming sessions.

A father and son visit Rivertown from Mamou, Louisiana. Elisabeth Pierite sings and plays the drum.

Donna Pierite relates tribal stories to an especially lively young visitor.
